Carrot, Apple & Ginger Juice

When you start out juicing, it is really easy to be overwhelmed and not know where to start. I remember going to my first juice bar and walking away embarrassed because I didn’t know what to order and nothing seemed appealing. It wasn’t until I went with a friend who introduced me to this one, that I was able to move on from the basic orange or apple juice.

With my fussy eating children (how did that happen exactly?!), I will often haul out the juicer and pull up the step stool to the counter with a supply of apples and carrot and get them at the ready to make their juice. It makes me feel better that I am getting some vegetables into them. They also love making the juice and it goes a long way to getting them to drink it themselves. The carrots are naturally sweet which make them a very easy transition into a mixed vegetable and fruit juice. I have always added a little section of ginger for them, so they have never known  any different, thankfully they love it! If yours are a bit apprehensive, just increase the amount of apple until they start getting used to the taste.

Makes 1 large juice

  • 4 medium-large Carrots, cleaned
  • 2 Apples
  • 1cm piece of Fresh Ginger, peeled

Your juicer will determine the amount of prep work required for your juice. Some of them will take whole fruit, skin and all whilst others are best with chopped pieces.
Press the ingredients, above, through your juicer and enjoy!

Your juice will last 24hrs refrigerated in an airtight container. (This is just a guide as depending on your machine, some will last longer.)
